Nidhi Gami

Nidhi Gami is a full-time software developer who was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) in 2021 in Melbourne, Australia. Her complex diagnostic journey took place during strict pandemic lockdowns, forcing her to navigate a high-risk kidney biopsy and sudden medical isolation entirely on her own. Today, she manages Stage 3B IgAN through a strict low-potassium diet, lifestyle adjustments, and routine medical monitoring.

Driven by a desire to build a family despite her diagnosis, Nidhi bravely navigated a high-risk pregnancy complicated by preeclampsia risks, low blood levels, a painful induction, and severe blood loss during delivery. Her resilience prevailed, and she is now a proud mother to a thriving one-year-old.

Currently, Nidhi masterfully balances her demanding 9-to-5 tech career with her daily duties as a wife and mother. In the rare moments of free time she manages to find, she loves heading out on family road trips, watching YouTube travel vlogs, relaxing with Netflix, and catching up on much-needed sleep.

As a Community Health Leader, Nidhi wants to shine a light on the intense mental and emotional toll of chronic illness. Having beaten the odds through multiple medical traumas, her core message to the IgAN community is to lean on loved ones, maintain resilience, and never lose hope—because you will always find your own way forward.
